I'm looking to pick up a new road/hybrid bike. I mostly plan to do recreational riding around the streets of the Bay Area, maybe 5 to 20 miles rides. I'm not looking for anything too fancy, but I would like a decent bike that will last me a while.
I've shopped around, and I'm debating between getting a '12 Specialized Sirrus or a Diamondback Insight 1. The Sirrus is $499 and the Insight is $360. I've heard from online reviews that the Insight has weaker components and is a little flimsy and has squeaky brakes. I'm not against spending a little more for the Sirrus if it is more durable. What would you guys recommend? Thanks.
