Durable tire for rollers

I have been using the Performance aluminum rollers for about 6 months now and, while they are a great tool, they absolutely KILL my tires. I ride 800 miles / month on the road and most standard training clinchers last me at least a few months. But if I spend any time on the rollers, my tire life is reduced to < 1 month. In one case I had a decent (though slighltly worn) tire on the rear, did a 35 minute warmup on the rollers before a crit and noticed that I had worn a 4 inch hole in the tire right through to the casing!

Anyways, with the winter months approaching, I need a tire that can handle some big hours on the rollers. Not so much looking for puncture resistance like the Armadillo, more for an extremely hard, thick and durable tread that won't wear down quickly. I know there are some indoor specific tires but I'd like to also be able to ride outdoors on the same tire if possible.

Any suggestions??

Check out Conti's trainer specific tire. It's exactly as you want and comes in an ugly yellow hue.
