Can't seem to find information on the net about what type of bike I should use for this route. I have a touring bike, but I can hire a mountain bike if need be. There is some off road but if its just small sections of paths then I should get away with using my touring bike. Has anyone cycled this route and can they let me know what type of bike I'd be best of using. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Well, I haven't done the route myself but a quick Google has revealed that some of the paths are gravel but they sound quite regular so I would imagine your bike would be OK depending on the gearing & tyres (and your fitness). What size are your chainrings and cassette?

I have a 1970's Gitane that I had as a kid that I am restoring. Hard to find tires for this bike. The origional tires are Hutchinson 32-440 500X32A. Will the 32-451 work on this bike????

Please help....giving this bike to my 6 year old son.

thanks Vince
