On my commute this morning I found somebody's seat bag. It was in the
Northbound cycle lane on Drakeford Drive, opposite Lake Tuggeranong.

If you can identify the make of bag and accurately describe the
contents, I'll be happy to drop it back to you. If you're a Canberra
cyclist active on other forums/mailing lists, please let them know
too. These things aren't expensive, but losing them is damend
inconvenient.

It couldn't be TimC. The silence if he lost his seat bag would be
deafening. ;) (ok he's nowhere near Canberra anyway)

BT... I've posted to Canberra Roadies. If anyone there wants to chase it
up I've given them my contact details, so I'll drop you a line if anyone
comes fishing.

Also drop a line to Pedal Power, CORC, ACT Audax or CCC?

Excellent, thanks. Say, has your knee recovered? I'm off skiing
again on Sunday, so I might have a little bit of time off myself
soon. ;-)

Thanks.

I'll hang onto it for a couple of weeks, then I'll start using it
myself. ;-)

It sounds like there's an in-joke here that I'm outside of! ;-)

The knee is getting better. Stretching every day to help things loosen
up. I also need to stretch just before getting on the bike and just
after. Still in need of a good bike fit to ensure the problem doesn't
persist due to poor posture or position on the bike. Slowly coming back
to it and hope to be doing ~300 a week in the near future.

300km a week? I'm doing about 160km, and it's getting easy. I should
probably find myself a new Gordon-Woden route with a second big hill
and an extra 10km or so on it.

I'll be in Civic again for a couple of weeks from mid-September, so
that might do the trick for a while.

I'll race ya! :)

BTW, did you get that e-mail RE the saddle bag? Let me know if you
contact the guy directly (if it's his) so I know to forget the whole issue.

Cheers

I guess you probably travel a litle lighter these days given the
improvement in bike.

Tim's original steed was a GVBR freebie (the purple monster) and when he
started riding in the BR group he had the biggest seat bag imaginable
with all the possible tools required when you rode one of those, which
made quite a racket as he cycled along. It wasn't a bad thing because
all that weight tended to slow him down. Curse the day he invested in a
road bike!

I can't retrieve e-mail whilst at work, due to some type of firewall
issue. I'll have a look in a few hours.

Din ding ding! We have a winnah! :-D

(And what's more, he only lives about 2 blocks up the street from me).

Geez, what's the odds on that? 10 million bicycles in Australia and you
managed to find someone in your street on this forum.

You're on! Provided, of course, that:

(a) You're still semi-crippled, and
(b) You're also riding a Blade XTI-18. ;-)

Mine's up to 734km as of today, and I should reach break-even on
Thursday morning!

Considering that I found his gear on my commuting route, I'd say that
the odds were greatly improved! Not *that* many people live within
8km of my house, after all. ;-)
