Hey guys and gals! Long time since I posted. Finally broke down and
bought a helmet cam. Best Buy has those Tony Hawk helmet cams for only
$50, online only. But Circuit City was nice enough to match their
price. Sweet. The camera is lo-res, but still a lot of fun to play
with. Yesterday I took it for a leisurely ride and made this flick:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7q9OxwUV-I

The camera is pretty cool, totally self-contained, and very light.
Basic functions allow you to record or delete. When you aren't
recording a laser pointer comes on to help you adjust the angle of the
camera. The camera automatically stops recording after 15 minutes and
makes a growly "errr" sound.

Documentation is sparse, but as simple as the camera is it doesn't make
much of a difference. The camera comes with a 32 Mb SD card which is
probably good for six minutes of video. I used the 1 Gb card from my
cell phone and the batteries (2xAA) died way before I ran out of
memory. AND I just stuck the SD card into my laptop so I didn't even
have to install software or mess with the USB cable. I think it can be
used as a web-cam, too, but I don't have much interest in that.
All-in-all very cool and fun.

See ya out there.

Perhaps the most horrific home grown "mtb" video that I've
ever seen.

Those "helmet cams" absolutely suck. Sorry, I don't see
anything "very cool" about them, other than the price. Even
then, I think they're a ripoff.

James, this isn't going to come off as good natured. It's meant that
way, but that's not how it's going to come off. I apologize. I'm not
trying to come off as my hardcore dude, but....

Oh, man, that soundtrack, the dirt road trail... priceless! That is the
funniest thing I have ever seen/heard in this newsgroup. Five stars!
I'm bleary eyed from laughing. The cuddly tandem riders, the other guy
gently merging onto the trail, the septuagenarian golfing range, your
courageous dive across the grassy median.... I owe you one, James.

Don't listen to those other guys talking about editing or quality or
whatever. It's all about telling a story. I've never enjoyed an mtb
video more.

"Yeah, baby!"

OK, got me to (try to) watch it. I lasted 12 seconds (no smart-ass remarks
about THAT!).

Smart-ass remarks? ... Never.

But I think you misspelt "Impotent."

You mean you weren't "enlightened" by the music only to be sent back to
purgatory by the Spin Doctors at the end?

Funny thing happened the other day. I was called by a Christian rock
band to audition for vocals. I am actually thinking about it. I didn't
tell them that I wasn't. I wander if you have to be?

I'm pretty sure Eric Cartman already answered that.

R

Eric Cartman: [singing] I want to get down on my knees and start
pleasing Jesus. I want to feel his salvation all over my face.

Just to be pedantic, someone who lasts 12 seconds isn't impotent
(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/impotence). He's got problems, but
that ain't one of 'em.

Well if it is a "choice" to pull out ... wouldn't that make it
pemature evacuation?

Having endured a Barium enema recently, please don't use the term
"evacuation" in my presence (or BEHIND my BACK).

FYI, most bands, and people for that matter, who claim, "I'm Christian,"
aren't.

I was just out to dinner the other weekend with a couple classmates. One
of the girls is harcore heathen, but the other says she's Christain.

So, heathen girl asks, "What's your guy's New Years resolution... mine is
to find a man!"

Christain Chick: "Mine is to get f**k*d!"

Slack: "Excuse me, waiter, can we get the check?"

Well? Did she achieve her resolution. I can imagine what your
