Plan de Corones trouble

It can happen anywhere, either on gravel or normal road, and it happens. It`s a part of cycling and it`s not always that the best rider wins. You have punctures, tactics, health problems, falls, ... Conditions are the same for all riders. There`s just a question who will be, if anyone will be unlucky.

Organizers had took their risk....but if it'll not rain it'll be a GREAT SHOW!!

About sprinters/not climbers on high gradients...well probaly u never was on (for example ) Mortirlo and saw that ....mhm... probably only the first 20-30 riders do the whole climb "with their legs"...all the others ask for being pushed.
BTW even a climber like Cunego is reported to use 34x30.

I think it is a stupidity beyond belief to have a modern race on unpaved roads on gradients of a ski slope simply for spectacle. Its not a race at that point but a mountain bike fiasco.
I think that it is a great idea, and as for the other non-paved climbs last year and this year, they are spectacular, bring back memories of the good old days, and are, well... fantastic.

To be honest crashes are a threat at any part of any stage. Basso could've crashed on the descent with Piepoli the other day but he decided not to take risks. It's part of bicycle racing, just like getting sick, something Basso can vouch for.
