Public meeting to form Stonnington BUG - Sun Sept 18

Hi everyone -
This Sunday September 18, a public meeting will be held of all interested
cyclists who live in or ride through the City of Stonnington, with the aim
of forming a "Stonnington Bicycle User Group". (Stonnington includes South
Yarra, Prahran, Windsor, Toorak, Armadale, Malvern, East Malvern,
Chadstone).
"Stonnington BUG" would be a networking forum for local cyclists and a focal
point for local cycling campaigns, education and advocacy. It would also
provide a united voice for cycling when dealing with Stonnington Council.
Among other activities, a BUG would lobby council to ensure that:
* cycling facilities are upgraded
* the new Bike Plan is funded appropriately
* cyclists are consulted about local issues which concern us
If you're a Stonnington cyclist -- whether as a resident or someone who
rides through the area -- please feel free to come along to the meeting on
Sunday. Together, we can help make Stonnington a great place to ride!
