Me, I dislike waterproof shoes. I have a pair of goretex hiking boots and the
problem is, you inevitably do get some water in over the top of the shoe, and
then it's stuck there.

I actually prefer shoes with lots of vents -- yes, they let your feet get wet,
but then your feet dry out. I figure there's a better than 50/50 chance that
my feet will get wet anyway, so I want the venting.

Just my unsolicited thoughts.

Two thoughts -
1. Move to a drier climate (I know - probably out of the question)
2. Get platforms and wear what the heck shoes are right for the weather.
