Friend has bike with 9-spd Ultegra gruppo. The left lever (brifter) is
shot.
I'm like to recommend that he replace the Shimano levers and rear derailleur
with Campy levers and rear derailleur, but I've not tried this. I'll bet it
would work, but would it work well? Without any experience, I'm not
confident enough to recommend this to a good friend. He's a super strong
athlete, Ironman caliber, any setup would have to work as well as the
Ultegra (which is good stuff as long as it does not need repair).
Question: has anybody out there actually ridden Campy levers and rear
derailleur with a Shimano casette? If so, does it shift smoothly, first
time, every time, without hesitation and without mis-shifts?
