Well...
Usually when people talk about road shoes, road pedals and road cleats, they talk about a bygger cleat, a bigger pedal and a 3-point attachment to the shoe.
What you've got there is a supposedly road shoe - thus indicated by the near complete absence of tread on the sole, but one that will take what's usually considered to be a MTB-style smaller cleat.
Luckily, that'll go with that pedal, if you decide on this purchase.
Personally, I much prefer MTB/trekking shoes for any kind of usage that involves more than entirely token amounts of walking. They'll have the cleat recessed into a rather functional sole.
Likewise, single-sided pedals can be a real PITA if your regular ride contains more than the occasional unclipping.
But if you're looking at marginal walking and pretty much uninterrupted rides, and want to eke every little bit out of your performance, then I guess road kit is the way to go.
Size is difficult, and I have no experience of that particular shoe. My general impression is that bike shoes are OK in length, but often quite narrow.
Specialized often have a wider toe box than Shimano.
A top buckle as opposed to velcro I would consider a good thing. Barring impact, buckles last longer than velcro.
