5/32, if I recall correctly. Most cheapo pedals of the day had 1/8"
bearings. The Campy had larger than most, but smaller than their wheel
bearings (1/4" and 7/32") or headset bearings (3/16"), so I think 5/32" is
right.

If by "old" you mean the Nuovo Record era,
i.e. the 1037 (road) and 1038 (track) Record pedals,
they take a 5/32" ball.

You'd think they could make something and _not_ call it
'Record". . .

Record 1037, 1037a = 5/32"
Super Record Titanium 4021 =1/8"
Record C-180 A600 'triple bearing' =1/8"
Record C-180 A630 "ergometric" =5/32"
Record C-180 A610 "SGR" =1/8"

Were the catalogs of that era out of sync with the actual parts?
Catalog 17a shows the same part numbers for races, cone, and
balls in Record and Super Record pedals. See
