I think that I only saw him once, and his pitchforks on the road a few
times. It was pretty clear that when I saw the pitchforks that the camera
did a quick cut away, maybe he did something to make French TV 2 mad.

Remember rainbow head, at superbowl, ncaa finals, world series, etc?
Eventually the networks get tired of the joke, and edited him out of every
shot, and he went away.

I think he went to jail as well.

Went away, no. The guy with the John 3:16 sign went to prison for
kidnapping. The kidnapping was bizarre as he was. Maybe he thought that he
was God's son. Musta been a friend of Laffertee.

Wrong yet again.

He went to jail.

I happened to be in Strasbourg during the opening weekend of the Tour. Saw
him in a parking lot just standing around, and he posed for a picture for
me. Later that afternoon I passed by the Virgin Megastore in the center of
town and saw that he was going to do a book signing on Saturday....maybe he
was preoccupied this year doing the book tour thing?

Not just French TV. I've seen glimpses of him at several other races but the
cameras seem to make a point of not lingering on him.
They probably think he's had more than enough free publicity.

Didi? He was there. I saw him on several stages. The television cameras,
however, seemed to almost deliberately avoid him - I wonder if that was
policy this year, and if so why?

I know he was in trouble with the Swiss authorities earlier this year for
painting on the road.

How do you do a book signing when you have legendary Euro-funk like that
guy? Is the book scratch-and-sniff?

Having taken the reasonable precaution of starting at the lower right
and working my way up, I can tell you that the lower right is the one
with the beer. And 'le Streaker' is also on the last row.

Carl, you stole my reply! Good job.

However the devil Didi Senft was barely visible this year, extra
odiferous perhaps?
