Does anybody know if the Campy Record Triple 111mm bottom bracket can be used for the later generation Campy Pista cranksets?

Square tapers are the same, length is the same (both 111mm), not sure if the offset is the same. Campy Triple BB is assymetrical, being a little longer on the drive side I assume, not sure if the Pista BB is the same offset.

The Triple BB is better sealed so would be more suitable for my commuter than the Pista version.

AFAIK, the 111mm Record/Chorus Cartridge BB is symmetrical.

If the recent Pista crank uses a symmetrical BB spindle, then the 111mm Record-and-Chorus cartridge BB should be good-to-go as a substitute. If not, then not.

Do you already have the Pista Crankset?!?

If not, do you realize that it uses 144BCD chainrings?

Why not simply use a 5-arm Chorus crankset (c2001) which uses a 102mm BB & readily available 135BCD chainrings?

MICHE makes 135BCD "track" (1/8") chainrings ...

  • BTW, whether it is the intended fabrication or a quality control issue, the "web" on some of the Miche chainrings may not be perfectly flush with sides of the arms of the crank's spider ...
  • if you are handy, then THAT can be easily remedied with a drum sander (if the cosmetics are a concern)
