I am having some trouble removing the Shimano freehub on a Mavic Ksyrium Elites rear wheel. I beleive they are the 2008 versions which use two 5mm hex wrench axles but when I tried unscrewing them they wouldn't undo and one hex wrench turned inside the axle without it moving. That is how much force I applied and they still did not budge. Am I supposed to push out the axle with a mallet or unscrew the axle? Thanks

Those video instructions are for the NEWER Mavic wheels, NOT the wheels I have so they do NOT apply for me.

TRY a 10mm Allen Wrench ...

... from the non-driveside AFTER you remove the axle.

So do I have to push the axle out by tapping it with a mallet? Apparently the older Mavic wheels didn't use the 10mm socket.
Should I take pictures to show this?

Pictures MAY be beneficial ...

BUT, see if this link has the info you need:

"Should I take pictures to show this?"

Yes. Especially the left side axle area.

I had the same problem, and from the pictures the same freehub and axle. Eventually I realized that the axle will come off using two 5mm hex wrenches, one on each side. You may have to tug had to get them to loosen.
