Maybe you all can point me in the right direction where I can find some new saddle bags? I've been searching the web for a while looking but have found nothing. I checked out the bags offered here on this forum but they are not what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions (web sites, etc) would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unless you want a long list of bicycle related sites, I would suggest that you describe more specifically what you are looking for.

And, I am curious too. It provides food for thoughts aout my own equipment if I have the chance to see what is important to others.

Have you thought about Carradice. They are traditional canvas saddle bags.

www.carradice.co.uk

nice info at

http://www.wallbike.com/carradice.html

The "saddlebags" link at the top of the page has a good list of products

I want something like the Topeak RX Trunk Bag DXP shown here: http://www.topeak.com/products/bag_019.html

It says I would need their RX Side Frame rack to use this bag, but maybe I could use the rack I already have. The prices are good either way, and their Alien DX tool looks sweet, too.

My advice is buy it!

I believe that the need for the side frame is because the Topeak beam rack doesn't come with side supports to keep the pannier part of the bag from swinging into your back wheel. If you have a more traditional rear rack, you should be OK.

When you do buy it, post here and let me know if it is as nice as it looks.

I found a Bushwhacker saddle bag, called the Yukon, and this one seems even better than the Topeak bags. You can check them out here: http://www.bushwhackerbags.com/panniers2.html

My local dealer sells them, but they want $145 for them. That seemed really high for bags, so then I called the manufacturer and he said he would sell them to me for $97.

I think this is the bag I'm going to get. Plus with these bags I can use the rack I already have. Go check it out, they are a sweet looking set of saddle bags.
