Hope you're all well. I went to a wake last night. A good old rock and roll bloke, well loved. He used run the Petersham Inn in Sydney back in the day, but strangely I only ever met him when I went to Melbourne ten or more years ago when he was running the St. Kilda bowlo. Even a couple of evenings and a visit to his house was enough for me to know he was good people. Anyway, good enough wake. A good chat with one of the Iranian bouncers after a joint, he mentioned that it was weird that everyone was happy because in his culture everyone would be crying. I got picked up by a 70yo clearly ex-rock glamour, and even got ferried around and a couple of pool games by her lovely 42yo daughter, that was interesting. I chose charming. Eventually a kebab, alone, ok a few other wakees at the kebab shop too. All good.
More importantly, I also got news that my mate Phil, theclimber, who disappeared mid last year, was found last week. Call off the search. Well his skeletal remains were found. It would seem he jumped off of Narrowneck in the Bluies about 15 months ago, which is a lovely peninsula I'd posted some nice mtb photos with him from a few years ago. Into Sydney's water catchment exclusion zone, which would help explain why he wasn't found for 15 months. Hmm. What a shame such a wonderful man so capable of compassion for his many loved ones was not capable of sharing his pain when it obviously mattered so much on a fundamental level. But I'll at least I'm likely get to drink a few of his molecules in the next few years. RIP Phil

Anyone else watched the new season premiere of Walking Dead?

Its full on. I actually think the yanks have lost the plot when it comes to depicting graphic violence on TV. It would appear they fail to appreciate the consequences of deminishing emotional responsiveness.

On another point - Trump has the election in the bag.

On another - nearly died tonight on the bike thanks to a young P plate driver. Epic skids. Dodging bullets. Eik.

That's probably consistent with a lot of team sports???? Or maybe cricket has been around so long it's a living anachronism?
