is getting his ass handed to him by Big Lance in Kona today.

Start times 4today. @lancearmstrong @ 9:30, @chrislieto @ 9:31. Others every min. Honor system! No starting ur clock late/stopping it early!

some training footage of Lance from yesterday in Kona. Looks like there is some elevation. 110 miles the day before and windy. I think he's finally addicted to Kona.

what? Macca cheating off road?

and some more with elevation

chris was supposed to go for a swim session prior but skipped it for this 'race' so it was an even playing field

@lancearmstrong gets 18:35 and @chrislieto gets 18:50. Lance by 15 seconds.

one correction, Chris did go for a swim before hand. and on another note, Big Lance was blocked from the huge tailwind , unlike Lieto, by his chase car. still pulled away. note how this chick states that 'sides' were taken to see if a triathlete could take a cyclist. NOPE! :D

Kona, eat your wheaties, ladies.

Do you know for a fact that a car traveling before a trailing wind blocks the wind?

A car has a lot more frontal area than a cyclist. How do you know it doesn't push it along even harder?

It's all guessing without knowing speed of tailwind and how close the car was to the Unitesticle Texan (just two of many factors), and having a wind tunnel or at least a CFD program handy.

Uh-oh. 15 secs * 112 / 14 = 120 secs. That amount of time will be erased in the first few miles of the run.

what part of his wattage being covered up did you not understand? Lance was not putting forth an extreme amount of effort.

Excuses. Excuses.

Meanwhile Contador just won a pro race. I guess Armstrong is too busy applying orange tanning products and shaving his chest to race against other cyclists.

And what makes you think Lieto was, eh? It was a completely meaningless "event" that only showed those riders can ride those distances at a pretty high clip. Otherwise the "event" only indicated.........well.........nothing.

does contador's one race equal seven tours victories? lance could care less for contador. without lance, there is no podium for contador and when contador proves otherwise and wins seven straight tours, he too will have the privelage of being able to not show up to races he doesn't care about, doesn't have to care about and thus so isn't there.

It's all about the present, baby, not a few dope fueled wins from the past.

The idiom is "couldn't care less." To say "could care less" implies "couldn't care more," which indicates you got your shorts in a knot.

And because there were so many races that Lance didn't care about is one of the reasons most of us on this forum couldn't care less about him.

But we care about you, roadhouse. That's why we're still listening.

That is a down side for Armstrong. His focus on one race does raise questions about any prowess he could have or might show in the Classics or other races in general.

Presumably, Armstrong is a professional cyclist. So why isn't he riding with other professional cyclists?

The Lieto dance is a Hollywood sideshow, much like Apolo Ohno on Dancing with the Stars.
