I finally broke down and bought the Marzocchi Z1 freeride. I've heard great things about this fork.
This is the first oil/coil fork that I've owned. I have a few questions about sag and oil level. I'm
5' 8.5", 165 and the forks are on a Turner 5-Spot.

I got the '03 Z1 FR with stock springs. When I go to set the sag, I've been adjusting the large red
knobs on both fork legs. The problem is.....I don't notice much of a difference between no preload
and 20 turns (how far will these knobs turn, anyway?).

The fork has a little stiction in the begining of it's travel. The LBS said that this was normal.
That might be the issue with setting the preload.

Do you think that I need different springs? Should I notice a big difference between different
preload settings? Does the oil level have anything to do with this.

Also.....the slider tubes seem so dry. Not that I'd want to see them covered in oil, but...there's
nothing on them at all. I added a little tri-flow and cycled the shocks...then wiped off the excess.

Please help. I want to make sure that the fork is set up properly so that I can fully enjoy riding
on the Marzocchis.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Bruce
