Great move by Basso.
Vino ? One minute he's struggling, next he's trying to move up the stage field.
Amazing.

Did you hear Kelly earlier about how he changed from a sprinter to an all rounder and how it affected his sprint. Interesting stuff.
limerickman said:Yeah, it was really interesting to hear him talking.
(not to name drop, but I got to cycle with Sean Kelly a few weeks back on the Wicklow 200 on 12th June - really great privilege to cycle with the man).
It will be so messed up if he wins... he used to be a sprinter! He is one of the nicest guys in the entire peloton... I am crossing my fingers!cheapie said:come on george! there's no better time for your first tdf win!!!

Tonto said:I'd put my house on it him winning the stage. Perreiro needed to drop him before the gradient eased off. It's going to be a sprint and there can only be one winner if that happens.

roundsquare1 said:17:18 GEORGE HINCAPIE!!!! Unbelievable!!! The American is dazzled, raising his hands in holy-moly disbelief, snagging the 17th -- and greatest -- win of his career!!!!
Tonto said:Unbelievable stuff. Perreiro tried so many times to drop him and just couldn't. At the end he didn't even bother zipping up his jacket, he knew he was beaten a couple of km's out.
