Lefevere threatens to sue AFLD if Schumacher isn't prosecuted within two weeks:

One day later and AFLD say everything is moving along nicely:

Schumacher is being a right **** about this. Despite getting caught absolutely red handed he's gone and applied for an 09 license and threatened to sue AFLD. That's a move even LA might balk at for its pure hypocrisy. I wonder if they can add extra years to his ban for being such a ****.

By being a right ****, he's practically giving himself a lifetime ban from almost any top team.

what gets me about this is the disparity in the programmes efficacy. afld have nailed several riders already. anne gripper and her charges have compiled a list of 30 (more or less, given latest reports). but damsgard and catlin haven't cocked an eyebrow over anything yet.

Didn't Gustav get the shove from Astana ?........................ for not taking his gear in the the proper manner thus risking a positive test...... good idea this anti-doping ****.....

There is no way Gustav was let go because of doping. Not from a team run by Buyneel. There has to be another reason, and suspicion of doping was just used as a convenient means to remove him.

He probably made a rude comment about Bruyneel's wife.

It doesn't take months to discuss things like this especially as the AFLD doesn't have a massive back log of cases to review and even if they did then someone with Schumacher's results from 2008, his case should have been bumped up to the top of the list. Until the AFLD stop going out for extended "all day lunches" and finally get around to coming out with an official verdict, then Schumacher has every right to apply for a license and his only obsticle to racing would be the 'honour system' inplace between teams that you don't start riders in races that are under strong suspicion of doping.

It's great that more people are being caught but the likes of the AFLD need to speed up the process... but then again they're French so there's probably sub-meetings to plan the initial meeting which is then reviewed in preparation for the meeting to review the minutes for the pre sub-meetinging... Christ, send out a letter to Schumacher stating "Dear Mr Schumacher, following several samples which where tested positive for CERA, the AFLD requests that you attend a hearing to discuss this matter. Please contact the AFLD immediately to select an available date which will be within the next calendar month. If you do not select a date one will be selected for you. Failure to attend will not delay any action that may be taken against you.... blah blah blah..."

There is no problem in that case.

Schumacher need to have a licence for punishment or racing... only his team have problems with doped rider if their contract are not well designed!
If Schumacher races and is found gulty later, his suspension will begin later, if not a part of his ban period could be already done.
