He is a long time rider..and not doing it just for show. I believe that he
has participated in a Jimmy Fund Annual Fundraiser in MA many times. It
offers different routes but the main one is Sturbridge to Provincetown. The
one thing I don't like is that his office sent out a press release last year
that he was the thirty something finisher. Unless things have changed, I
don't think that there is any race component in the event. Saying that you
finished 37th is really lame if it wasn't a race. It is easy to beat people
when they don't know that they are racing.

I'm not a Kerry fan by any stretch of the imagination, but at least he's out
riding. Maybe if he's elected we wont have to fight so hard for ISTEA, and
cycling provisions every year.

I agree that it would be great to have a cycling president

I hear that Kerry is getting a tandem and is going to enlist Ted Kennedy as
stoker! <G>

By all accounts Bush is still a pretty habitual runner; he may do more
treadmill work these days, or it may just be that the 50th photo of the
President out for his morning jog isn't very newsworthy.

At least the exercise routines that Bush and Kerry use seem to work.

But, will Kerry ride to work if he becomes President?

Bush is also a gym rat. Big lifter. Doesnt' look like Kerry knows a dumbbell
from a dinner bell. Did you see how scrawny his legs are? Get that man to
the squat rack, pronto. :)

If you can afford a nice bike and you like it, that's what you should
ride, even if it's a racing bike. Racing bikes feel good, they feel
fast.

A Fred is anyone that you can find an excuse to feel superior to, even
if they are faster than you.

You know they have tunnels and stuff under the Whitehouse. Maybe he'll
get a subterranean velodrome put in and he and the Sekrit Service agents
will ride crits!

Probably lost some equillibrium thanks to the 20 years of drug and
alcohol abuse before he 'grew up' at forty.

I just have to ask: does he shave? If so he can rule out any Texas
votes.

Like Chappaquiddick?

Has Kerry ever been busted for DUI? Dubya is the only one I know of,
between Bush & Kerry, busted in New England for driving while pickled.

Lance shaves, and I'll be he'd win Texas in a 3-way race with Bush and
Kerry.

I always thought Jonathan Vaughters could have gone 20% faster if he'd
have shaved his arms.

Nope. A Fred is a big dorky looking douche that tools around after
their cat. 4 race and talks about getting boxed in during the sprint,
otherwise they would have won.

You're welcome

I thought you folk said, "Farm out". Do the university cycling team
wear helmets of a cheese or beer motif?

My Cheese hat for a bike helmet?! Farm out that's a great idea! Just about
spit my beer out when I read that, but I'd never waste beer that way.

Thanks!
